“Resilient Joy” is a multifaceted, multi-medium project of how a Black, queer, Kenyan immigrant living in rural Indiana survives a global pandemic, poverty, and the mental emotional trauma of discrimination and abandonment to rediscover the Love and Light within himself.

 

It is a hope-filled fable of unconditional, adamant self love documented in poetry, photography, and songs of shamanic prayer.
