Angel Swords

This June, Brandt Maina | RIOA wa ROE presents two new live staged readings inside an immersive installation environment at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center in North Portland.

Another Boy and His Kites coalesces performance, suspended paper forms, sound, sculpture, and shrine architecture into an exploration of grasping at migrating memories, immediate longing, sanctification, and the labor of beating your body against the riverbed until you become the wind.

Guests are invited to move through the installation, sit beside each other,

and listen to live readings of AFTER BEFORE and ANGEL SWORDS,

the fourth and seventh plays from Maina’s ongoing nine-play series, Succinct Suppositions.

The evening includes a closing reception, installation viewing, and a live reading of ANGEL SWORDS.
